Training Review - Weeks 33 & 34
I just about managed my swim miles this fortnight. But I am going so slow in the water now that I can't do anything more than that unless I am willing to sacrifice work or sleep. When the target numbers rise again after race season I am going to really struggle. Especially as I will only get intermittent swims with the Uni as I have to move to coaching them part time this year. I am still coming up short on running. Another 4 miles short this fortnight as I missed a couple of runs and shortened others. But now the accumulation of those little numbers over such a long period leaves me nearly 10% behind on my plan for the year. I missed Sunday's bike ride because the dog ate my helmet! That didn't hurt my bike miles much this fortnight, but did basically make my challenge to ride 10% of 41 Grand Tour stages an unrealistic achievement. It is still mathematically possible, but I would have to ride extra miles on two race days, as well as riding 6 day consecutive and fatiguing...
