Training reviews - Weeks 37 & 38

We were on holiday for the first week of this window. And I managed to mix that in with spending a week recceing the National Cross Triathlon Championships in Aviemore.

I rode the bike course twice through the week. Although, when I say rode, the first time was more pushing than riding. Then I coasted round the Aviemore 5k to tick another Parkrun venue off the list, on the day before the race, to stretch my legs off.

Then on race day they made us get in the water 5 minutes before the start. And by the time the start hooter went I was too cold to swim. I managed to breast stroke round three-quarters of the first lap before the leaders started lapping me and I decided to get out.

Then the second week has been chaos of getting back to work , whilst sorting out students for Freshers week and trying to get through two courses (one work, one coaching). I just don't have the time to juggle everything, so sleep took priority over swimming and I basically did one short swim the whole week. I then binged both days on the weekend to at least get my run and bike numbers back to respectable levels.

I have an in-person day for my coaching course next week and then Dundee Aquathlon to finish my race season the weekend after. As things go, I will be glad to see the back of this season.
